  1. Hello,

I'm making an MPG-1 file from AVI files and my operating system has a 2 GB file size limit. How can I piece together 2 (or more) AVI files to make 1 MPG using TMPGEnc ?

    Thanks

    Load 1st AVI into VirtualDub
Load the next AVI with Append Video segment.
Repeat last step until all AVIs are loaded.
    Frame serve to TMPGEnc

You could also create a small AviSynth script to "join" all AVIs.

  4. Hey I have one question about this...after I use Append Video Segment, do I save a new AVI file? What command in Virtual Dub do I use to get the new file over to TMPGEnc ?

    Thanks!

    2GB avi limit

In tmpgenc, go to Options ---> Environmental Settings. and there, check "open sequence files as a movie". Remember to rename your split up avi files so they have a number sequence in the end of the filename.

No, that would create a new file with the size=sum(all AVI sizes) which was the purpose of this experiment to avoid. You then frame serve it as one contionous AVI to TMPGEnc (or other encoder).

What is your file system ? FAT32 is limited to 2 Gb files.

If on an NT based OS, changed the partition to an NTFS file system....
