  1. I went ti ATI's web site today and saw a new version of MMC and graphics drivers. I downloaded them all. While i was downloading them i read somethin on rhere that said to uninstall all ATI software before installing the new software. Everything uninstalled fine except MMC 8.5.0. I got an error message taht said something about the ISScript.msi being older than required. Then it gave me an error that said error 1603 ( or something) and closed cant uninstall. I Tried just installing all the new software without uninstalling the old and when i try to start tv it says unable to start tv. I know i souldnt install over top of the old but i tried it anyway. any ideas?

No ideas if you can't bother to post your system specs.
Last known good MMC was 8.5

  3. I'm sorry, i didn't think to post the specs. Also 8.5 was the last good one? I thought there was 8.6 which was no good for me and 8.7 was the new one. oh well, i'll probably install 8.5

  5. I got it working again. What i done was install 8.5 without installinga nything. That fixed the problem with not being able to uninstall. Then uninstalled all ATI software and restarted and then installed and restartd software as normal

  6. well,

it seems like some OS issues...

everytime I do the procedures (uninstall/install new MMC/Catalyst packages) everything goes fine and smooth.

Now I use MMC 8.7 and Catalyst 3.8. It is stable as ever!!!
No problems at all. No dropped frames, no issues!

    Running with XP Pro SP1.

  7. I might have worked for me but the file for MMc 8.5 was damaged and would'nt let me uninstall. And i had aready unsintalled all other software. So i downloaded all the latest an tried, ( without thinking ) to install over the top. Then it didnt work. So i insalled 8.5 ( which fixed the file and allowed me to uninstall 8.5) and removed all, then was able to install the next to latest drivers and MMC 8.5. Now that everything is working fine i am going to leave it alone. ( for now )

That's my attitude. If it works, don't mess with it.

  9. I have got the same problem. I did a fresh installation of Windows XP Pro with SP1. First I installed the Catalyst 3.10, then the Control Panel. Restarted. Then the WDM drivers. Restared. Then MMC 8.8. And when I try to start it I get "unable to start tv".

I have tried with Catalyst 3.9, and still got the error. Then I tried with Catalyst 3.8, and it worked. But why dosen't the 3.10 work?

I have got a Sapphire Radeon 9700 VIVO card.
