  1. Hi!

I've got some mpegs movies are cut short when played on my new system. The old system was Win98SE, Viper video card, 550MHz Athlon. The new system is listed in my profile.

The mpegs are supposed to be long (15 minutes) and the new system plays the first 2 min of video, then freezes while the audio goes on.

Can anyone tell me what's happening and how to fix it?

    Thanks!

  3. Isn't there some sort of patch or codec that load to make the mpeg compatible somehow? I'd like to edit and author it if at all possible.

The media player classic works btw.

  4. Look to the left of this page for convert and author sections. Be prepared for a bit of reading.

Yuo will also need to know the structure/formats of your mpg files. Look gfor guides on doing that - if you don't already know their details.

Load the files in virtualdubmod and see if you can scan past the freeze,if you still see the freeze then the file is faulty,if you can scan all the file normaly then you can frameserve out the tmpenc if you cant fix the files.

  6. I ran the files thru virtualdubmod and I can't scan past the stop. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Another thing about these files is that if it is played in a player like Win MP I can play past the stop if I click on the scan bar. It seems if I pick a point on that bar, the video will advance to where it should be if played normally. However, it won't play the rest of the file. For instance, if I ran what normally is a 14 min mpeg, and if I click on the midpoint of the scan bar, it would advance to the 7 min mark, but only play for 1 min and stop at what normally be 8 min.
