  1. Hi
i would like to know what is the difference between a 80 min SVCD and a 700 Mb CD. When i try to convert a movie with TMPGEnc at the end of the wizard i have a drop down menu where i can choose between these 2 choises (and other choice). I always tought it was the same thing
but the amount of disk space seem to be different for these two.

So if anyone know the difference ...

    Read this article.

Summary: CD capacity is 700 MB as data, 800 MB as an S/VCD.

  3. Thank you very much for this article
it is real clear and dummy proof,

So from my understanding i can put approx 795 Mb for 80min discs
the question i have is that when i use nero to burn a SVCD and i pur around 705 Mb of mpg data it tells me that there is not enought space on the cd.
So what can i do to tell nero to store 795 Mb of data when creating a svcd ?

You have to tell Nero not to re-encode the file, to just burn it. I don't use nero but I think it's "create compliant file" or something like it that you need to unselect.
