Check out this new feature I found ... Theater Mode

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=821925#821925

Very handy for watching Divx, WMV videos and it works to watch DVD videos in PowerDVD.

S-VHS TV output switchs to Full Screen automatically ... when I watch on my cheap 13" Orion TV screen.

Cool ... Cool ... feature ... I never knew it did this ... until an hour ago.

  2. What is it you are doing? It sounds sort of cool if I could figure out what you are talking about. I read that whole thread it's something about watching video files on a TV monitor?

    anyway re:
Desktop Properties >> Settings Advanced >>>Overlay ... clone mode options

I don't have that overlay option. I think I lost my ATI desktop settings somewhere around my 8th install of various MMC's and haven't seen it for months.

Then you mention something about WMP not always going into full screen mode? Very confusing.

First ... Windows Media Player 9 ... when I click it to display the video in full screen ... on my monitor ... the top and bottom ... don't move out of the way. Seems to do it once but if I look at another video ... WMP 9 ... wont display the video in Full Screen mode. If I reboot and start over again ... yeah ... it goes into Full Screen ... but messes up if I watch another different video.

Second ... Using ATI AIW ... when I connect my cheap 13" Orion [Wal-Mart $59 bucks] to the S-VHS TV output [back of ATI video card] I can watch on my 13" TV whatever I see on my PC monitor.

Now if I go to those settings

Desktop Properties >> Settings Advanced >>>Overlay ... clone mode options

I can choose for ATI AIW to display the videos being displayed in Full Screen mode ... regardless ... if WMP 9 ... is in Full Screen or not. This includes all the video players on my computer.

As soon as the video begins playing the image being displayed on my 13" TV ... jumps to Full Screen ... !!!

So you figured out what TV out is? and you found a way to play files in WMP9 in full screen mode. Good for you. Thanks for the clarification.

I still don't have "Clone mode" in my desktop settings but since I have no problem with TV out or with getting WMP to work in full screen, I guess I don't need it.

I always knew I had TV out but quality wasn't that good. But the quality has improved. At least when a video is being shown ... trying to read the contents of a folder on the 13" TV screen is still ... yucky.

Plus using the S-VHS TV out instead of composite video out is even more of an improvement.

This feature wasn't needed until ... the Adult Bouncer movies started becoming Protected Contented Licensed Videos

I can no longer import the WMV videos into InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2 and convert them into DVD Compliant Mpg-2 video files.

So ... I now use the TV out feature and record them to DVD-R or DVD-RAM.
