guys i`m trying to squash an avi file down to the smallest usable playable size i can on a pda
i need some help though , i have been messin with all sorts of settings but cant seem to get the file small enough
full screen size on the pda is 280x180 although smaller may be usable as the software on the pda depending on player type may expand the file
i`m also using divx mpeg4 witha 4 sec key frame and 190 data rate , audio on a pda is not good so i`m using 20 kb 16 htz mono
can anyone give advice on shrinking down the file anymore , perhaps using the wmv format
i`m not experienced with codecs and compression but i`m sure there must be one that will give max compression with a small trade of for quality
the original file is about a gig with 21 chapters , 720x480 25 frames
i have got it down to 180 meg and the output is great on the pda but i need to get it to around 120 meg inc audio
pointers please guys

i`m looking to get just under a meg per min , at 296 x 216 in either divx or wmv formats , audio is mono but too low gives a sibalance sound on playback
whats the formula or software to do this guys
realy i want to do it straight from a dvd , without copying it down on to a hard disk , realy just to save time
