  1. I downloaded some TV shows in (DivX).avi format. I used TMPGEnc ver. Beta 12e to convert them. I then used Roxio EZ CD Creator 5 Platnium to burn them. I followed these instructions to convert:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

    And these instructions to Burn:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/easycd.htm

Everything seemed to go smooth, but when I tried to use it on my Sony DVP-S360DVD player, it says no disc. Yes it does accept VCDs. This is my first attempt at this. No I've never played other VCDs on my DVD palyer. No I havn't had the opportunity to try to play these discs on another DVD player.

Below is the Menu structure created n the VCD:

    \CDDA
    \CDI
    \KARAOKE
    \MPEGAV
    \MPEGAV\MUSIC01.DAT 226,638Kb
    \SEGMENT
    \VCD
    \VCD\ENTRIES.VCD 2Kb
    \VCD\INFO.VCD 2Kb
    \VCD\LOT.VCD 64Kb
    \VCD\PSD.VCD 1Kb

Thanks , for any help you can provide

  2. I don't even see your player on the list of dvds but if I did see it I think it said you need Black layer disks or Blue layer disks.

  3. Sounds like your player doesn't read CD-Rs (mine doesn't). Try a CD-RW, which work on many players that don't recognize CD-Rs.

  4. Well after some more reading I did try CR-RW's it worked! But I read the compatiablity list for my player, seems different people have differant results. I need to just find the media that works for me..

  5. I have this same player, use CD-RW or try Gigastorage brand disks (available at Futureshop if you are in Canada for 9.99 plus taxes for a ten pack) They work fine on that player as well (ONLY brand of CD-R's I have found that work, there are some other suggestions on the player guide on this site for disks that are supposed to work as well)

I had the same problem, and my exact same model player played my CD-RW media . Now if I could just figure out how to get my menus I created under Roxio CD Creator 5 Platinum to show up....

  7. I also have a sony DVD player and I have found it to be very picky on what cdr's it will play. The brand I have not had any problems with is Princo. You can get 200 of them pretty cheap at Office Max sold under the name of Prime Perferiale for $45.
