  2. Microsoft says minimum system requirements 64 megabytes MB of RAM for 2000 pro.

    Good luck.

I have a laptop with very similar specs, that I use at work. The cpu is a little slower - It's a 400Mhz K6. Anyway, the only difference is that my laptop has more RAM, but I don't think that will be a problem, if you have some on the way.

  4. I have a desktop that has worse specs than that (except RAM) and it runs fine. It does take 2 minutes to boot, but after it does things work good.

The specs are Pentium 2 350MHz, 256meg RAM, ATI All-in-Wonder Pro.

You'll probably need that extra RAM, but everything else is fine

I don't suggest w2k for your PC. I suggest w98se or (if this is possible) w95se.

  6. Why do you need w2k? You're at the minimum for specs (I never install it on less than 128MB, and prefer 256). It'll probably work, but what do you hope to gain?

I'd stay with 98se. But if you DO go to 2k, go to www.blackviper.com and follow his recommendations on disabling some processes you don't need. This will help get the best performance from your older machine.
