  1. I'm making progress but still need some help. I want to capture a clip from a DVD movie and get it into an mpg file that can be played on a PC. I have been successful in doing so except I can't seem to get the subtitles. I use DVDShrink to extract just the clip I want including the subtitles. I know I have them at this step because if I play the VOB file in a sw DVD player, I can turn them on. I then use DVD2AVI to create convert the VOB file into a d2v and wav files. I then feed those into TMPGENc and output an mpg file that plays. Whew!!!!

If there is an easier way, I'm open to suggestions. This works. I'd just to get the subtitles turned on or have the option to turn them on. Seems like something I'd need to do in DVD2AVI.

    Any help?

A mpg file can't have selectable subs...only an dvd-video with vob and ifo files.

You can rip the subs to a text format and use a software player that can load text subs. subrip can rip dvd subs to text format.
