  1. I have a CLD-D501 by Pioneer, will it play VCD's? I'd love to do something useful with it, since LD's are sooo ******* primitive now. Also, whats a CDV and how do I burn one?

    Thanks

  2. By CDV I don't mean VCD. It says "CD CDV LD Player" on it, thats why I asked what a CDV is. I heard it means CD Video and I don't know if its the same thing as a VCD or what.

  4. mike416, I believe that you are thinking of CD-G.

CDV is where Laserdisc type video is put onto CD media. It holds a handful of minutes of video in this format. It is not the same as VCD.

There was a long "CDV" post recently... if you search for "CDV" and "laserdisc" in the forums, you will find much more info.
