If they say made in Japan.
Also some Fuji +R that are not made in japan are Ricoh.
Not sure on -Rs. -
All the Fujifilm -R's I've bought so far are TY's.
As stated by Flaystus, "If they say Made In Japan", they are most likely TY's."It is not enough to obey Big Brother. You must love him". -
The DVD-R discs that say MADE IN JAPAN are Taiyo-Yuden 4x DVD-R discs.
The CD-R discs that say MADE IN JAPAN are also Taiyo-Yuden but are getting harder and harder to find.

True enough. Best Buy and online are the only places I can get them anymore. They used to be more readily available in retail outlets.

lol yeah i know what u guys are experiencing
went to superstore to pickup a couple of spindles, every single one made in taiwan...spent 10 minutes going through al those spindles
luckily staples had them on sale with the 50 off coupon -
I've noticed that the only FUJI CD-R discs that say MADE IN JAPAN are small packs. I saw a 10 pack at BEST BUY and a 3 or 5 pack at KMART
It would seem that the bigger packs all pretty much say MADE IN TAIWAN
Thankfully I don't use too many CD-R discs these days.

is $30 for a 100 spindle cheap for fujji cdrs?
or $140 for a 100 spindle of fuji dvd-r?
anywhere cheaper? -
Interesting. At this point I am still able to buy 50's and 100's of the "Made In Japan" variety at Best Buy. Sounds like that may change in the near future. Time to stock up.
Yes, I would say those are decent prices on that media. Unless you have to pay some gross shipping charges."It is not enough to obey Big Brother. You must love him". -
$30 for 100 cdrs? is too much now, unless you KNOW they are quality (made in japan) All the fuji 100-packs I've seen have been Made Taiwan since October. And before that they were packaged as 2-50 packs to make 100, those were TY's.
Now you can often get 100 of Fuji or other for $5 to $10 after rebate. But they aren't TY's.
For Taiyo Yuden try http://rima.com/ they have them for $28 per 100.
At least you know what you're getting this way.
FYI: Taiyo Yuden DVD-r are still $168 for 100 at rima also. -
Or $190 for white/silve injets at Rima.
Made in Taiwan Fuji are ProdiscS03 media. Still great quality, better than Ritek anyway, but if you want the cream of the crop, stick with TYs.
I still remember my first KProbe scans of TY DVD-R and CD-R mediaNever tried another brand after that.
