  1. I currently have a Pioneer 343 thats starting to just stop in a middle of a VCD or SVCDs as Im watching it. I'll try and clean it ASAP. Anyways Im thinking of buying a new one but not sure which to get. It must be less then $200 and play VCDs and SVCDs!!

I wouldnt mind one that has a 3 DVD carrier or progressive scan.
Also Ive never had a DVD player that has progressive scan, does it help any playing VCDs or SVCDs picture wise? Any new features I should beware of thats out now?

    Thanks!

  2. good, cheap, play anything player is an APEX (1110 are available at wal mart for $35-$40). I believe that progressive scan's benefit comes in when you slow down the picture, but others may have more information.

Check the dvd players list and you will see all of the additions (preference search) that should give you an idea of some of the things that players now come with.

  3. gott a be careful with Apex now. they started dropping VCD/SVCD support, or at least they aren't advertising it on the box anymore. you can get the 300 model sony for about $80 at walmart and it plays those formats as well as MP3 CD.
