    Hey all,

I know that burning SVCD's can cause errors if you burn at a high speed (higher then 16x), and I was wondering if this can happen when burning video DVD's? I always burn my dvds at 2.4x (lowest) as apposed to 4x or 8x, just cause i want my videos to turn out perfectly.

Will you recieve errors or glitches in your DVD video if you burn at high speeds? or is that just for CD type video?

  2. i think it really depends on the media you are using.

I tried burning at 4x using memorex dvd-r's and it always came out choppy, pixelated and sometimes my dvd player would report the disk was dirty.
When i burned at 1x or 2x using the same memorex disks, the video would play just fine.

then I started using riteks and always burn at 4x, which never has problems playing whatsoever.

I have burned quite a few SVCD's at 40X and DVD's at 4X, never any problems. Don't believe everything you hear. It is important to have media that works properly with your burner.
