  1. Seems like alot of the same tools would be used on DVD-Audio, as is used on DVD-Video.

    Anyone tried it?

not refurring to this thread but most of other ones. i think those parts are greyed on there computer screen or something because there sure seems to be a lot of useless questions being asked. if the person would have put in a little effort and try to find the answer by themselves they wouldn't have postd them...

He is asking to bkup DVD-Audio not MP3 or DVD AC3/DTS. I dont see any tools yet available to bkup the hi-def DVD-Audio discs yet. You can bkup the AC3/DTS soundtracks but not the hi-def DVD-Audio tracks. If somebody has a method or can point the way on how to bkup the hi-def files, much appreciated.

You will want a program like this for hi rez DVD-A. But you would need to capture your audio in 24/96 or better sampling.

  12. Minnetoka make Discwelder in 3 versions Chrome, Steel and Bronze. The Chrome and steels cost thousands but the (soon to be released) Bronze will only be $99 and can make DVD-AUDIO discs (not DVD-Video/mp/ac3 or whatever other posts seem to get confused about). You can get demos of the software from their website but alas its non-functional but seems kinda easy to use.

I have a Panny DVD-VIDEO/DVD-AUDIO player that cost me £114 (inUK) and Id highly recoomend it to anyone who wants to get into buying DVD-AUDIO discs.

As for backing up a DVD-Audio disc this is impossible at present because no-one has found a way to crack the CSS2 code, it was beefed up after DECSS came along BUT I have made a back up of the 'DVD-VIDEO part' of my Metallica Black Album DVD-AUDIO discs and it plays just fine, it used a AC3 5.1 track instead of DVD-AUDIO's 6-channel Uncompressed Audio track.

Give it time for DVD-Audio to catch on. The kids will be finding ways to crack it if DVD-Audio ever does catch on just so they can rip it to MP3 and share them on the P2P nets. :P
