  1. I make little movies and usually use the letter box option on my camcorder. When I watch the videos on the tv or capture via fire wire they all strech and are wide screen. If I send edited footage back to the camcorder via fire wire it records the video as a streched full screen.

    I have a sony digital 8 camcorder. What am I doing wrong here?

    That is anamorphic 16x9 widescreen.

    Nothing wrong with it. It looks normal on a 16x9 widescreen TV

    You cam should have a setting based on playback ... 4:3 or 16x9

    But when you capture it should look full screen stretched.

    That is how anamorphic video works.
