  1. Hi all,

I tried using dvd decrypter to make a backup of a dvd purchased in the UK (the dvd is region 2 so I can't play it on my dvd player, only on pc). After I decrypted the dvd and made it region free, and then burned it, the burned disc flickers when it plays in my dvd player, but plays fine in my pc. I'm not sure why that is. Please help! Thanks.

  2. Where do you live ?

I bet it's yet another NTSC / PAL issue. Don't forget that has nothing to do with region coding, it's an entirely different issue.

  3. I live in the US and the dvd was purchased in the UK. So you think it's a NTSC/PAL issue?

If you take an NTSC Region 1 Disk and rip it changing it not to region free but region 2, then you won't be allowed to view it on your system.

However, a region free (made) DVD containing PAL content must be played on a compatible system. So, your DVD must be able to playback PAL video and your TV set must be able to playback PAL video as well.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
