I recently finished a wedding video, and have put it on DVD. Unfortunately,
there is flickering around any objects on screen that have a pattern to
it , as well as in other places to a lesser extent.

Workflow

Export HDV lagrith lossless file from Premiere,

Downconvert via Lancoz3 and Sharpen in Vdub ,

Encode in Hcenc,

Burn in Encore.

I have used this method with 24p and 60i footage on past projects, without problems.

I have tried different mpeg encoders, different codecs, different versions of Vdub.

If I deinterlace, there is no flickering, which causes me to believe that Vdub is messing up the fields, because it is a 30p file. But there are no interlacing artifacts. I've tried switching field orders, which seems to double the problem.

I am using the Canon HV30 which uses a m2t codec, and is true 30p.

Here are the files in the three different stages, HD file, Vdub downconvert, and Hcenc Encoded (very short to keep file size down, let me know if you would like longer clips). I recommend burning the Hcenc Encoded to a DVD to watch on a TV, as it seems to be more obvious than on a computer.
