So I am converting my Divx movies to DVD using TMPGEnc. I convert the sound from the Divx into wav using Virtualdub (and one of the guides on this site). My question is, the resulting DVD that I author in TMPGEnc DVD Author is too large, and I would need to use DVD Shrink to compress it. So is there a way that I can compress the audio instead of the video? Is there any other format that I can use for the audio that is smaller than wav? This way I don't have to lose the quality of my video.

    Thanx.

You could use SSRC in either TMPG or BeSweet and make it a 48 khz mpa. Then ac3 the mpa or the wav once they are smapled to 48 khz.

The TMPG method is discussed in the guide using TMPG to add VCD clip to a DVDR layout

You don't want to use WAV for DVD audio anyways. Convert it to AC3 or MP3 and it will be just fine.

    Hey guys,

So I'm trying to use BeSweet to convert my wav to ac3. I'm following the guide, "How to convert WAV/MPA/MP3 audio to AC3(DD) using Besweet" at https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/129419.php

However I get the following error from BeSweet when I click "WAV to AC3":

Error 85: support for ac3enc.dll had been removed due it its suckness!

So does BeSweet not support conversion to ac3 anymore? What software should I use now?

    Thanx.

    UPDATE!!
I downloaded the latest stable release of the BeSweet tools instead of using the beta versions I had, and it appears to work!
