Hi, need some suggestion on the setting i should use when converting a avi to svcd. I use tmpgenc..
Here's the original source of the movie.
It's a dvd rip, the picture quality is perfect.
MPEG-1 576x320 23.976fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 192kbps
What setting should i load to convert it.
SuperVideoCD(PAL) or SuperVideoCD(NTSC) or should i leave it alone and adjust everything myself?
And what aspect ratio should i use?
Also when i convert are there any difference between High motion quality search and Higest quality mostion search?
I'm trying to make it fit into 2 cd.
Everytime i convert a movie, i always end up burning 3 cd. I also try cutting the beginning and end. But it's still 100mb over. Should i overburn it? and will it lose any quality if i do?

your source is NTSCFilm you should probably use that template.
on the advanced tab set your source aspect ratio to 1:1
set your video arrange method to full screen (keep aspect ratio)
if your source is perfect I suggest making sure you have TMPGEnc 2.0 and seetting the motion search to highest
as for getting it on 2 cd's ...
your really looking to make an xSVCD if you want it to fit on 2 cd's ... just make sure your DVD player can handle non-standard SVCD's
I would suggest a good 2-pass vbr
