what would be a good setting for converting rmvb to avi using SUPER, the quality has to be good and an acceptable speed, also the file cannot be too large? The Rmvb file is about 131MB file in size. any Suggestions? thanks!

What sort of avi ? AVI is a container - how do you want the video compressed inside that container ? Divx/Xvid ?
The quality will be lower than the source as a general rule if you just use a converter like SUPER. If you use the right settings it might not be noticeable. However you also want a small size. The two don't go together. If the RMVB is animation then it will have compressed a lot. Expect the AVI file to be 2.5 - 3 times the size in order to keep the same quality if you use Xvid.Read my blog here.

There's no way to answer that without knowing the quality of the RMVB file. But you should be able to use a bitrate calculator if your AVI type output is Xvid or Divx. https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/bitrate-calculators
Just input the running time of the file and the size you want the AVI file to be. The size of the RMVB has no bearing on the encoded size of the AVI. -
lets not forget RMVBs also have variable frame rates...
IMHO the only way to make a good conversion from rmvb to any other better format (what could be worse than rm anyways?) is to capture the screen while playing it and dumping it to some uncompressed or very low compressed file, and *then* starting from from that.
