I recently captured 2hr 20mins of video to MPEG2 and with the MPEG settings I used this created a file of 3.2 Gb. A bit of a waste of space, thought I until I inserted 13 chapters when the DVD file structure total size rose to 4.2 Gb. Does anyone know a simple rule for estimating this increase in file size when chapters are inserted. If I'd gone for anymore time this would have easily gone over the 4.4 Gb for a DVD.

Inserting chapters should not increase the file size .
How are you doing this ?
