  1. I'm using this for the first time and I have a vcd mpg on my computer. the filename is

    WWF.Survivor.Series.1987.VHSRip.VCD.CD1.mpg

and when I go to open it up on Ulead DVD MovieFactory it tells me there is no video data. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I'm not sure if any of you's remember but I have posted here with some probs with this same file and audio sync problems. So thanks in advance!

  2. Are you using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.0?

Or are you using the new Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0?

When you import the clip, right-click on it.

    Then click MEDIA CLIP PROPERTIES.

This should give you a precise read-out of the clip's properties.

You might see a properties read-out similar to this:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 352 x 240, 29.97 fps
    Frame-based
    (Video CD-NTSC), 4:3
    Video data rate: 1150 kbps
    Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 44.1 KHz, Stereo

What are the precise video/audio properties of your clip?

  3. I think its 3.0 and I cant get the properties because I cant import the clip when it tells me there is no video data it only gives me the ok option and I have to click that and it takes me back to the browse screen again.

  4. Use Gspot or Avicodec to get info on your avi file. If neither of those utlities will recognize the file and give details, then you have an unusable file.

As to DVD MF, open the app up and look for an "about" or such, usually located within the help pulldown window. That should give you the version info.

Repost the resulting details of both items above so that Jerry can give you some knowledgeable feedback.

Probably a long shot, but try renaming the file into something shorter (e.g. surv01.mpg) and then try imorting it into DMF. There may be a string-length limit for the filenames in DMF.

A long shot, but give it a try anyway
