    Hi,
    I have an NEC dvd-rw burner, and it has worked for about 3 weeks, and now whenever I turn it on this blue error comes on and tells me that the computer is shutting down because of an error. Sorry about not being specific, tell me what I need to be more specific on.

    Could be a problem with I/O port and not the drive.
    Do you have the option of trying it with another pc or installing as internal
