I plan on buying a DVD Recorder/Player in the next few days and I would greatly appreciate any advice as to which DVD Recorders/Players I should consider buying. My pricing range is about 400 to 500 dollars so please keep that in mind. I have found a few that have interested me, as well as read the reviews that were posted. Here is one of them that really caught my eye, except for the review about the front input devices.

Now, there are plenty of good dvd recorders/players, but I am mainly looking for a few features that maybe included with the one I purchase. I would like the one I buy play back most of the formats(DVD-r/rw, CD-r/rw, mp3, etc...) I would also like there to be a s-video input/output, as well as an i-LINK so I may connect my miniDV so I can record my video onto dvd for backups. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I don't have any actual experience but just about everything I've read here (and on a few other boards), leads me to suggest the Panasonic E60 if you need firewire and the E50 if you don't. Re the former, I believe there are a number of sources that sell it for under $500 (Walmart.com and CDW, to name two).

I think I'd buy the Panasonic over the Magnavox.
