    Are most software packages compatible with the Sony DRU-530A DVD drive?

    I have Pinnacle Studio 8 and the Sony is not recognized (Grayed Out).

    My old drive was the Cendyne DVR-105.

    ANy help would be appreciated.

    Well studio 8 is outdated and has been replaced with Studio 9, but don't fear. Studio 8 can create the DVD files and then burn away with most popular burning software. I have found this to be more reliable. This also allows you to test your dvd creation with power DVD or WinDVD before you waste a disc. Nero, RecordNow both these programs can burn your DVD content.
