  1. My Cendyne Pioneer 105 is unable to make duplicate copies of DVD-R's and also unable to make a dvd-r from my camcorder. It always burns successfully but the copy is totally unplayable. (freezes, etc)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  2. More info please.

What software are you using? What brand of media are you using?

One thing I did that has improved my burn speeds and reliability with inexpensive media is the 2X4All firmware update. Unfortunately it's an "at your own risk" update and more than likely there's more to your problem than just the firmware. I reccomend high quality 2x or 4x media as a control to rule out cheap media as the issue if that's what you're using. More info would be a big help as mentioned above.

  4. The media I am using is the CompUSA Brand which I use in my Panny E80 DVD recorder with great results.

The software I use is Pinnacle Studio 8 and Pinnacle Instant DVD Copy and also DVD Xcopy. All with the same poor results.

I have also tried Khypermedia from Office Max with poor results.

My brother has the same DVD Burner as I and has perfect results with same media and software as I!

    Thanks

I had mixed results with KHypermedia and CompUSA discs before I got this update. Since then I've yet to make a coaster, which is a big improvement considering immediately before, I was getting about 2 coasters for every 5 discs. In addition to greater reliability I aslo get much higher rip speeds (up to 12x using the Cendyne / Pioneer) and my 1x discs (Princo/Khypermedia/Compusa[FMI]) all seem to burn at 2x.

    Hi,

Can you tell me where I can get this update and how to install.

    Thanks,

You can download the zip file for the A05/105 here...

    http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/#PIONEER_DVR_IDE

Instructions are included in the zip file. Just to be on the safe side (I always do it too), scan the file before you open it. The rest is pretty straightforward.

    Good Luck.

No problem. Let me know how that works out for you. I don't really know anyone else using it ATM, but I wish I would have found it sooner just thinking about all the time and money I could have saved.
