Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the new aspi driver from adaptec version 4.72 for xp because I was having a problem with a burning software but now none of my other burning software will work including the built in IMAPI in xp. How do I uninstall this new driver and go back to whatever old one was on before.?? Thanks in advance. Bob P.

If you just did it use the windows restore feature and set it back to yesterday.

You can also download forceaspi https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=24#comments It has a tool to remove aspi and then you can install a different version. Usually ASPI problems are more complicated than the version you are using, but try this and reinstall your original.

Man do I need some help. I was having burning problems so I upgraded to aspi drivers to 4.72 but that only made things worse. With you guys suggestions I used forceaspi to get version 4.6 in there (even though when I ran it, it never mentioned windows xp) all other versions. anyway I installed 4.6 with forceaspi and it said installed correctly but nothing works even the built in windows IMAPI burning software. When I try to make a burn, it looks like its working, the burner is spinning, lights flashing, etc, even software looks like its working, but nothjing is going on the discs. When I put them in to play, it starts up the cd player but nothing happens. At this pont Id even be happy just getting my xp IMAPI to work and burn with media player. Anybody got any ideas? Im ready to uninstall music match burning software and start over. P.S I cat get Roxio ezcd6, nero 5, to work either. Somethings screwed up and I have no idea what do do. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance. Bob P.
P.S Roxio and nero are both unistalled at this point. I only have music match and jasc photo album 4 (for vcds) left on the computer. -
I will NOT have Nero on the same computer as Roxio ever again. I uninstalled FREAKING NERO after it messed up all of my other burning apps....THEN I went to Roxio's website and fixed my "Old Version Of Roxio On An XP Pro Computer" problem via their update. Now any burning application I stick on here works like a charm. I think forceASPI was involved in that fix....I just don't recall the exact scenario.

I did the opposite. I got rid of the Roxio crap, used forceaspi to 4.6 and installed Nero.
Anyhow, part of the problem could come from having both Roxio and Nero on the same computer. Those two children just don't play well together.Cheers, Jim
