this topic has been covered ad nauseum
esseitially dvd backup does not remove the RCE protection

you can 1. use Virtual PC and IFO EDIT to correct this
or 2. try the hades or mac the ripper.

not sure if mac the ripper can corretlly reset RCE but its wroth a try

MacTheRipper and Hades DO NOT remove RCE at this time. I would give YadeX a try, as they claim to have RCE removal in their latest release.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

If yade doesnt work, IFO Edit is the way to go, but it requires VPC. Its really very easy, open the folder, hit REMOVE RCE and then your set.

Try clicking the link for IFOEdit, and click the 'download' link at the page you're brought to.

does it play on your mac?
    the burned disk

just because it doenst play doesnt mean it isnt region free. Often people are burning them incorrectly or doing a really small thing that is preventing disks from playing.

can you verify the disk will play in your mac using Apple DVD Player and also perhaps on another standalone player?

if not, then take a look and make sure it was burned properly.

Also, there's a specific way to get YadeX to remove RCE protection. Read the translated instructions I posted in the YadeX thread, and see if that works any better. If you need more help with YadeX, let us know in that other thread.

  16. DVD Backup should get rid of the code. Maybe you aren't burning it right?

DVDBackup does not fully remove region coding.
It leaves behind RCE protection which will prevent a NTSC dvd from playing in PAL and vice versa.

YadeX now offeres RCE removal via OSX but you then have to designate a region

perhaps if you did YadeX first, then run that output through dvd2one you would really remove both RCE and Region codes
