TMPGenc conversion

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm rapidly going insane here! After a long to and fro with daamon about a no sound problem with a AVI to DVD converion which I felt I had sorted I now have another prob. Thre new DVD plays fine on the PC and starts fine in my stand alone player BUT not for long. IT then starts to freeze or jump and becomes unwatchable.
I am obviously gertting despondant about the whole idea of conversion.
Help me please

im new to computers tmpegenc is slow separate your audio demux then remux when you want to watch it when i say slow i mean slow 5 hours divx to dvd is this right by the way this site is top nannnnaa!

OK looks like problem solved.
After carefuill study of the disc and plenty of cleaning it now seems ok.
Panic over.
