  1. I've read all the guides I could find, to see if I can solve this problem, but nothing... Also the forum hasn't anything specific on the problem....

I've recorded a lot of DVDs, all in DVD+r and all worked fine when I was working with a platinum DVD+r, however I need DVDs and bought primefilm DVD+r and it doesn't work on my playstation 2 (V1.10), it works everywhere but not on the playstation!! However if I make a copydisk to a platinum it works...

I wouldn't like to ruin the money I spent on this DVDs, so I would like to see if there is a solution...

    Thanks

  3. My collection is all in DVD+R, and I'd like to keep it that way...

    For DVDs I allways use InstantCopy 8 (when DVD9-DVD5) or Copy2dvd (whenDVD5)

I know about all those incompatibility problems between DVD+r and Playstation and that DVD-r allways works, but maybe anyone ahs solved this problem...

    Thanks anyway

  4. Yeah. Get a new laser for your PS2 or do what has already been suggested.

  5. The PS2 doesn't like the other media you got. Stick with what you know works in it.

My PS2 reads +R media(Philips, Fuji, Maxell, TDK) burned with Nero just fine, so that is not the problem.

I have a newer model PS2 and every dvd-r i burn works fine in it. I am using Nero with ritekg04 dvd-r. I have yet to meet a problem with this combo.

  9. the drivers on your ps2 are old. you should try to update your driver to v2.10 or v.2.12. what you will need to do this is the oringinal ps2 dvd remote control. it comes with a disc that you put into your ps2 and it save new drivers to your memory card. Or you will have to get your hands on a gameshark v.2 to update your driver to v2.12

  10. I agree, don't change your media when it works. Why people do that is beyond me. What media you use depends on your writer too, what was that?

What your PS2 can play depends on what version PS2 you have which you didn't mention....

dvd-r for the ps2 any version for games.

  11. I have a first run PS2, all original, non-modified. I have not updated the DVD drivers, and all my burns with quality media work.

  12. I too have a release model unmodified. it plays all DVD+Rs I've tried just fine. I'm used Sony, Memorex (Ricoh), and Riteks with no problems. They work with original drivers and 2.10 drivers as well. PS2s are picky about media, but -R is not always the answer. I know 3 peopls with PS2s that play +R fine and won't play -R at all. One has a release system, another has one about 1 1/2 years old and the other is 2 weeks old.
