audio messes up when ffw

I ripped a movie using dvdx2.2. the file plays fine, except if you fast forward. then the audio gets very badly out of synch, like not even seconds delaying, but from entire scenes. is there a way to fix this, or am I going to be stuck watching the movie from the beginning every single time?

I heard a question like this a while back.......lets see if i can remember.

I think the person said something like; Although DivX is very good at what it does, it can't restart its frame count, but the audio usually can.

I think they concluded that a faster processor could keep up with the jump, while the slower ones had to just deal with it.

This is just what i remember hearing!!!!!!!
