  1. Hi All,

"Drive is Being Used By Another Application"...This is the message i keep getting when i try to burn the DVD files i saved with DVD Shrink. I am using Nero 6.0.0.0 and have a brand new Pioneer DVR106 (OEM). This is my 1st time at doing DVD backup and i have read many posts to try and find a solution to why i am getting this error. i even opened my WinXP task manager and closed programs down one at a time to see if i could nail the program that was supposedly using my burner, thus preventing nero from using it.....but alas it was in vain ...i still get the same message every time. Also i waz wondering if it could be a compatability with my oldish mother board which is a BCM (QS694VA).

Here is my nero log of the failure..(should be a forum on here dedicated to nero failure logs ) lol..just kidding Admin, but theres enough of them out there.

Enough of my waffling, heres the log:

  4. Make sure you don't have any Packet Writing software running, look for an Icon in your system tray.

  5. Thx, I do not have "InCD" or any other packet writing software running when i try to burn, and today i tested my DVD burner in my m8's P.C. upstairs (which is a much higher spec machine than mine)..and it worked fine. Also I should point out that only 6 months ago i bought a "LiteOn CD-RW / DVD ROM Combo" and i had no probs with that at all.

This is my Motherboard... http://www.bcmcom.com/support.htm (and go to the "SLOT 1" menu and then scroll down to QS694VA model)...if it helps, as im wondering if my board might be too old to be compatible with my new DVR106 anyway if anyone knows what might be causing me all this grief, or if theres anything i have left out which might help, plz, plz, let me know...thx ppl.

  6. Its all fixed now, I moved up from Nero 6.0 ( which the pioneer support team told me was "a bit buggy") up to the latest Nero 6.3.0.2 and, hehe, my prob just vanished...
