  1. In addition to earlier post: I also have a 512x288 Divx encoded file that gspot reads as 16:9. Can/should this be converted to 4:3 SVCD (480X480?) or should i use 16:9 in DVD2SVCD? If so, will I lose quality?

    Thanks in advance,

A stand alone DVD player will not convert a SVCD that is encoded 16x9 into 4:3

So if you want to make a 16x9 SVCD it will only work on a true 16x9 TV display or on your computer if you use a media player that allows you to change the aspect ratio (and most seem to be able to do that).

However if you plan on playing this on a stand alone DVD player hooked up to a 4:3 TV then you should encode the SVCD as 4:3

  3. Hi & thanks. The thing is, my DVD player can switch to 16:9 format even on a 4:3 encoded file (add borders on screen). My question is more about whether the conversion of the actual file from 512x288 to 480x576 will distort the picture or whether i should encode it as 16:9 in DVD2SVCD. Btw does anyone know what 16:9 SVCD resolution is for either pal or ntsc?

    Thanks again,

    DF

Use FitCD to get the proper resize values.
