  1. After I convert a SVCD bin to mpeg, I can play it using media player 6.4. But if I burn it to a CD, then it wont play in MP. I have to load it in PowerDVD or something. Why is it I can watch it in MP when its not burned? Is there a codec that let's you watch it in MP?

  2. I'm not sure, but I think that when you burn it to a CD as a SuperVideoCD disc, the MPG gets a few more details into it which Media Player can't seem to handle and therefor can't open it, this is just an assumption, i'm not sure 100% about it.

  3. SVCD are what folks? That's right, normally in MPEG2.. Which means WMP can't play it unless you have the correct codec.... WMP only supports MPG1.

  4. teamhawaii, we all know that SVCD is MPEG2, but when you install a program such as PowerDVD or WinDVD, they install a codec that makes Media Player capable of playing MPEG2 files, the problem occours that even though it can play MPEG2, it will not play them from the CD itself.

  7. if you need a codec to open mpeg-2's in TMPGEnc or to watch them in media player just shoot me an email.

installing DVD software will not accomplish this for you - you need a system installed mpeg-2 codec
