    Hi,

Which driver is better for the best quality capture WDM or VFW?

    Thanks

  2. i doubt it matters unless you are referring to the microsoft vfwwdm mapper. the problem is finding applications that support wdm capture. outside of the proprietary software supplied with your card, wdm support is practically non-existant the last time i looked

It seems like the only choice for the cards offering wdm capture only is the Microsoft vfwwdm wrapper. Just how bad is the vfwwdm wrapper?

Bad. It only supports 1/2 frame captures ( ie Yx240 or 288 ). Depending on your card it can drop frames like mad.

It does support full frame captures with ATI AIW128. However, I agree it drops frame like mad. (I can tell if this is because of the wrapper or latest ATI driver). New drivers for ATI are WDM so I need the wrapper. So I ended
up going back to old drivers that are VFW.
