I've gotten these sent to me at least 10 times per days the last few days, even to addresses that are unpublished ... I'm stumped .. how the hell do they get these e-mail addresses?

Not trying to sound conderscending but are you sure they're coming in and not going out and coming back?

Does anyone else have the address? From what I've read it could go through other people address books. So if anyone else has it, then it could be sent to you.

If your address is in someones address book, and they get the virus, then you get a copy. It's the nature of the beast, it replicates by spoofing the senders addy, and sending to everyone in the book.
Be thankful you are only getting 10 per day, I got 489 yesterday, another 370 today...

I was all worried and everything about this virus, but so far not one has gotten to me. On my hotmail accounts, I'm sure MS is blocking them, but I'm glad non of my other pop3 accounts have been hit.

actually, I recieved one today - from my email address for this forum, which is not public, has never been given to anyone else, and is only used for this forum.

I got three of them this morning for the first time.

The email server is near expiry and I may have to opt out or change address. I have to check first, maybe from the forums.

The email I am using for the forums is an email forwarding to that server.

it's worse when spammers were spoofing your (as in mine) email address from a few years ago (system was slightly hacked, which was obvioulsly fixed) and to still see it spoofed now sending mydoom doesnt make me feel any better.

Well, I got an e-mail to an address that was never used before.

I had just set it up and not even tested it yet.

The other ones went to unpublished addresses.

I'm positive they are coming in, and are not bounces. I'm pretty well secured here.

The only thing I can think of is Paypal was hit or my registrar was hit. Those are the only places some of the addresses exist. Most of them are server-end aliases for ASP CDONTS systems.

One of mine was for this forum too, just like housepig, only used for this place, and never published (new one made after last fiasco here). I think sites are getting hit hard.

I've changed my aliases as needed to reduce the spam and virii.
