  1. right i have a number of problems. i will outline all of them, im desperate for help on this as i want to get the full use out of my dvd burner, at the moment it is only being used for data storage.

i have a number of hdtv avi file sources and i want to burn them so i can watch in my dvd player. i have searched and tried but out of sync encodings have resulted. also i want to put more than 120 minutes on the dvdr, i have heard it possible to put 7 or 10 hours to a dvd and i would love to know how. could someone please give advice or tutorial links on recording more than 2 hours on a dvd and the best way to encode. i am at breaking point here and im dying for some help.

i have TMPGEnc if that helps.

http://www.kvcd.net/ - some tmpgenc templates if you want several hours on one dvd but it might not be 100% dvd compliant.

  3. cheers for your help baldrick. iv managed to convert the files in a compressed mode now so i can fit a lot on to dvd, but still the audio is out of sync. acoording to virtual dub i should have it set to 480000 but that doesnt seem to be working. i checked the problems link you gave me but it doesnt supply a satisfactory solution. is there any reason why this is happening, i seem to be doing everything right.
