  1. Thanks in advance for anyone who can figure this out!

I'll state this in objectives so as to give the general sense of what I'm trying to accomplish.

    1. create a single dvd containing all data
    2. must be able to play in standard dvd players
    3. plays a movie when the appropriate menu option is selected
    4. contains a folder of more then 1000 jpg images(1.3gb) that are not a slideshow, but simply a data folder on the DVD

I've been able to make the dvd with a playable movie using a DVD-R. The attempt I tried, was to burn this to an image and then pull all the data off of that image and put it into a new ISO with the images folder attached with it. This didn't work though. The movie alone works, but not the movie with the data. It does work on my PC however, just not in a stand alone player. Since my end objective is to be able to play it on a stand alone player, I need to find that little tweak which will make the player recognize the dvd as a movie dvd.

    Thanks again for any help!

  2. I would have thought you would just author the DVD using DVDlab etc then when burning the disc with Nero (or what ever) just add an extra folder and the jpegs. Is this what you have done or have you done it another way?

  3. But when you add another folder (even an empy one), the disc is no longer recognised by a standalone DVD player. A computer will still play the disc, and allow you to use the additional folder, but a standalone won't touch it.

Anyone know how to correctly add a data folder while still within the DVD spec? It is obviously possible, as I own several commercial discs with both DVD movies and additional DVD-ROM content that work fine in standalone players.

  4. not true ClownDog just add another folder, i have no problems with this. lots of commercial DVD's have this too, there is a folder with a software player for the computer.
just burn the audio_ts, video_ts and another folder called whatever you want. of course the stand-alone wont touch this other folder but the film IS playable on the stand-alone.

but is this what you want demose01? so far as i gathered you want to view the pictures throught the stand-alone too??
