What the heck w/ CCE now??

Well, as stated from my other posts I have ended the battle w/ TmpgEnc to switch over to CCE because of the success rate.

But, now after converting several movies I have a new problem that came out of nowhere.

When I load my AVS script into CCE that dreaded "cctsp.exe has generated errors and will now be closed by windows". My script was created by FitCD the same as the others have been. I even added the ConvertToYUY2() with no luck. I even tried loading a project I had already finished into CCE but the same error occurs. Something has happened or changed but am not sure what.

It would help if I knew exactly what happens as CCE loads the file. I can load the video file alone but not w/ AVS. I use CCE 2.5 patched. I tried reinstalling CCE, avisynth and restarting the system. No luck.

I also tried looking in the DrWtsn32.log file but the only thing I can get from it is well, here it is.............

Strange enough this problem has existed for awhile for numerous people on this board. I think I fixed mine.

My AVI was encoded with that darn DIV3 codec. I loaded the source into virtualdub and saved the video portion only. But when I tried to load the source with the audio intact it worked fine. It's funny though because I just converted a movie the other day w/ only the video stream but now it won't work. The only reason I can think of is CCE cannot do video streams made w/ this codec. That's a guess since mine doesn't.

Make sure you have selected CONVERT DIVX3 TO DIVX4 (CAN SOLVE CCE PROBLEMS) in the Misc. TAB of DVD2SVCD.

I don't use DVD2SVCD. I only use CCE and BBMPEG seperately. Is there a workaround for this? Does anyone know exactly how this works??>>convert divx3 to divx4.

I got the video converted leaving the audio intact but not encoding it in CCE. It's hard to say about the final quality. It's not perfect but good enough considering it's encoded with the inferior Divx3. I am not sure if the lack of quality is due to AVI decoder, MPEG2 decoder, or what. I have experimented with all MPEG2 codecs, ligos and elecard being the best but elecard seemed to work better. As for playing the avi file I am using the 3ivx or D4(latest).....would it be reliable to load the avi in VDUB and look at the bitrate justifying the lack of quality?? Is divx3 really inferior??

I currently have cce 2.67 sp on my computer and I used dvd decrypter in FILE mode to backup my dvd copy, next I used dvd to avi and encoded the file and I created a .avs file with these commands: LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\MPEG2Dec\mpeg2dec.dll")

but when I goto add in the cce program i get an error stating "frame size is not supported" what am I doing wrong or what am I supposed to do in order to get to the file to work so I can began editing/ecoding it.

Sorry don't know much about CCE but it sounds like it will only accept certain framesizes.

What you could do is open your.avs file in Vdub and look at the file information. That will tell you what the framesize being passed to CCE is. If this is not one of the 'standards' for CCE you can add a BicubicResize parameter to your avs script to make it the Framesize you need.
