  1. Ok, I've been trying to do this for some time and I still end up coming out on thw wrong side of bad.

    Let me fill you in...

The other day I witnessed a movie that was compressed with Xvid and they had the entire movie down to like 700MB. But it still looked AMAZING!!!!!!

Whenever I try and do something like that, my file still ends up to be 4 to 5 times that sized and the quality is garbage compared to that 700MB file.

    GRRRR!!!!!!

I have neer been able to get a 22 minute TV show that I recorded in high def to look anywhere nears as good as the groups seem to release with file sizes of only 200MB.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Please help.

    Hi..

A hint use AutoGK and set the video file size to approx 10MB/min

In this way you will get pretty good result.

The audio can be .ac3, mpa or mp3 dont go below 192kbit...

Another way you can do this is to use Fairuse Wizard. Set it for 2-pass encoding with the file size set to 700MB (or whatever you want). 700MB is commonly used only because at 700 MB it will fit on a CD. You can experiment with the file size to get the best combination of quality versus file size as you wish.

there are lots of reasons they look so good.. one is that the ones that do look great are off a digital master with 6 pass encoding mp3 sound if you want ac3 the files are usually 2x700 or should i say 6 channel sound. if you try to cap with a video cap card cap in avi raw best settings for the source then re encode to xvid multi pass you will get the same results.
