First things first. The DVD is "Open Range", clean & scratch free. Ripping in low priority, deep analysis, full disc, absolutely no programs running in the background during ripping. DVD ROM is Pioneer 105. I have tried to rip this DVD 4 times, twice it stopped analising at 7%, once at 14%, and once at 25%, all during the "analysis mode". When it stopped running, all 4 times it locked up my computer and I had to reboot. I used the same DVD with CloneDVD/AnyDVD with no problem, 33 minutes start to finish. I prefer the DVD Shrink quality but can not figure out what is wrong. Can anyone possible give me some advice or help on this? Thank you very much.
    Thank You,

  2. I have ran across a couple of DVDs that did that also with DVD Shrink. The only way I found around it was to rip the movie with DVDDecrypter first and then use Shrink to compress/encode it. That way you can still keep the good quality video that Shrink produces.

marclile, thank you for the reply, I just couldn't figure out if I had a bad download of DVD Shrink or what, I guess based on what you said it is just a flaw in an otherwise remarkable piece of free software. Thanks.

    Thank You,

  4. I agree. DVD Shrink is great. I think it just might have a problem with some weird types of encryption that are on some DVDs. Other than that, it works perfectly every time.

I agree, DVD Decrypter is a great program as well. Just the other day, I had to use it to extract Die Another Day since DVDShrink couldn't read it at first. Luckily, I have a full working backup now.
