Epson R300 cartridge issue

I is true THAT YOU CANNOT PRINT ANYTHING EVEN BLACK AND WHITE if one color cartridge is out

I just bought my R300 this afternoon so I can't say for sure but according to the User's Guide (page 89):

CAUTION: You cannot print if any ink cartridge is empty.

I guess the only way to be sure is to just try it when you have an empty cartridge.
Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.
