Try to burn at a lower speed (say 1x). I have been seeing this when trying to burn 4x media at 4x on a SONY. It just stays there for 3-6 minutes doing lead-in. Sometimes it fails.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
I had the same problem with my Lite-On..forgive me for not remembering the model number, I'm at work. Anyway, I found that the problem for me was terrible media. I bought really cheap CompUSA bulk DVDs (Princos) and every one I tried to burn with Nero and RecordNow DX had the same problem...Red Light like it was trying to burn, then five minutes later I got an error message saying recording had failed. I bought some Ritek G04s and no more problems since.
