  1. I have searched this site for more information about these two programs. Which one is better for encoding? They both seem to do the same but TMPGEnc has more functions in it, i suppose it should the better.
AVI2VCD seems pretty simple. For which type and/or length is it useful?
Is there any site where they tell more about these softwares?

Almost no one here use AVI2VCD, at least no one mention it.
To learn, how to use TMPG, have a look at the "how to..." section. There you will find a bunch of very good guides. For example these ones:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm

  3. In my case I use TMPGEnc because it is so much faster (a couple hours for a standerd movie) than avi2vcd (many many hours) Converting the movie audio to wav. with virtualdub before plugging it into TMPGEnc also speeds up the process.
I hope this helps you alittle.
