I need to know how to get a seven part tv series (each episode 25 minutes long) one one VCD, using a KVCD template in TMPGenc. I already know how to make a VCD of say, a film using TMPGenc and Nero, but I do not know how to do this with multiple files in a KVCD format. I have been told that by using a KVCD template I can get a lot more data on one CD.
I already have the KVCD templates in the correct folder in TMPGenc. Please do not refer me to a FAQ or tutorial, (unless they are very specific for my needs), as I have searched for them, and cannot find the info I need.
Can anyone help?

Irrational Stoat,
I'm afraid I will refer you to an FAQ - sorry!
https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems
(EDIT) Sixth one down.
I think this will allow you to do what you want to. I've never done this before, so I don't know how it works. I would think you'd just select your KVCD template and then when it asks you for the input file, you select the first one and it opens it as a sequence. It would treat it as one long movie, as opposed to separate files.
I hope this helps,

Even using KVCD, 175 mins of video on one CD is going to look pretty damn awful. Why not stick with standard VCD and put 3 episodes (75 minutes) on each CD. At least then it should be watchable. You might squeeze 4 on a CD with KVCD and still have decent quality.Originally Posted by Irrational Stoat

Thanks fpr replying, guys. I'll check out the method described in the FAQ, but I'm not sure this is what I need. The reason I'm so unclear about this, is that (maybe wrongly) I'm assuming that KVCD encoding fits the file to the size of a CD, so encoding files seperately isn't the way to go.
Knowing me, Im probably wrong - If I encode files seperately using a KVCD template, will they be smaller than normal VCD encoded ones? -
I believe so. KVCD uses CQ mode, a type of one pass VBR in which the file sizes are somewhat unpredictable. Kwag claims to have fixed that though. You should really post your questions at the KVCD website, lots of "KVCD Masters" there to help you out. Click here.Originally Posted by Irrational Stoat

i have limited knowledge of kvcd (infact i recently got interested
in it). as far as i can tell it is more complex than vcd making. it involves basically 3 steps.
(1) split audio from avi and encode it.
(2) based on the size of the mp2 audio file calculate the size of video file u want
(3) encode the videofile using the appropriate templates.
so u can just merge all the avis and then try it. they got a template for 360 mins!! of video in a vcd.
let me know of the results
