DVDx Freeze (and its not yet winter)

i have recently started to experiance problems with DVDx while converting vob (from my hard drive via a info file) to AVI (using DivX 5.02 or Xvid).

i have done this sucsesfully many times before but now DVDx keeps locking up / freezing my computer, forcing me to turn off the machine and restart.

It always occurs at different point in the encoding which leads me to believe that the source files are not at fault

i have changed nothing in my hardware nor changed any of my software setup that i can think of.

my usual rip method is to use smartripper to copy the vobs to my hdd then use DVDx to encode via the generated info file


any ideas on solving this problem would be appreciated

the problem i found with the dvdx freezzing is that i thought it was the memory. but it was not it ended up being the mother board now everything work right bob
