  1. I know that there are 2 versions of the PS2, 1 version (the first year or so) and the one's now. Well the newer version will play dvd-r/w but mine doesnt. I was just wondering if anyone knew when the cut-off date was for the newer ones that play dvd-r so I know if I got ripped off or not.

  2. There are actually 7 or so versions of the PS2, all of which being a little different.

  3. All models play DVDR, some of the First models have been reported to not play DVD+R, but all play DVD-R. Unless you bought your ps2 when it first came out, dont worry. I have ps2 games on compusa brand dvd-r's that work.
