  1. I have recently aquired a Pinnacle Showcenter and everything is fine except for playing some Divx AVI files. These are TV episodes which as far as encoding goes can be indentified as when they are loaded into VirtualDub, it complains about a VBR Audio Stream. The sample AVI file that works on the pinnacle loads into VirtualDub fine. (I assume its a CBR Audio file)

Pinnacle say that their device supports Divx Simple profile. Is there an app that can convert an AVI to this 'profile' ?

Or perhaps all all in one app that can convert the audio to CBR easily (as that might be the obvious issue with the Showcenter).

    Thanks......

  2. You can use VirtualDub to split the VBR audio out (File->Save WAV)...

...then re-encode the audio file to CBR mp3 with GoldWave, RazorLame etc.. and the LAME mp3 codec. (Many other ways of doing this)

Then put the audio and video back together in VirtualDub

Or, use VirtualDub to re-encode the audio to CBR using the LAME ACM mp3 codec (in the tools section).

That ought to work (famous last words!).

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
