Anyone try the new AC3 plugin for TMPGE? Before I buy it I would like to know the quality of the finished product.

  2. Naw... You go first

I'm just gonna play with the latest TDA ver (needed for the plug-in) - as it has several other refinements.

    (edit add)

Noticed one change during a quick look - It's sporting a different write engine ( now Sonic vs the previous Veritas/Prazzi). Haven't burned with it yet.. will wait for you to go first

I'm not going to go first, you go first! Or, I guess we'll both wait for the results.

  4. OK.. finished my part.

test on a 4.2 gig mpeg file authored and burned just fine using the latest ver of TDA. Both output and burn times were very similar to previous version of TDA.

    Your turn

  5. So does anyone know if this AC3 encoder produces fully compliant AC3 files? If so I may just have to get it. I've always been afraid to use something like BeSweet because it's not licensed and not guaranteed to produce compliant audio that will work on all players.

I convert my avi ... wmv ... and mpg videos with InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2.

3 choices of audio ... LPCM ... mpeg and AC-3.

I then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make my DVD structure.

and at this moment ... Nero Recode 2 is processing the results that TMPGEnc DVD Author has made.

Final processing produced 7 Gigs of Vob files. So I need to shrink it.
