    Can anyone tell me the difference in Mpeg1 and Mpeg2. I have burned VCDs in Mpeg1 and they haved worked fine. I want to try and burn a VCD in Mpeg2 but don't know if it will work on my stand alone DVD pla

    It depends on your player. But at same resolution/ same bitrate (at least in the range 1500-2500kbps), there wont be a difference of quality.

    VCD=mpeg1
    SVCD=mpeg2
    Most DVD-players will play vcd and svcd.
